LEGAL ADVOCACY

Legal Advocacy and Representation Program

ATASK’s Legal Advocacy and Representation Program bridges the gap between the legal system and domestic violence and intimate partner trafficking victims of Asian heritage who do not have meaningful access to justice. We provide holistic legal services in a safe, compassionate environment while prioritizing Asian survivors’ cultural and linguistic needs.

With offices in Boston and Lowell, our managing attorney and legal staff collaborate as a multi-disciplinary team with ATASK Case Managers to deliver high-quality comprehensive and strategic legal services that complement our Asian clients’ shelter, family stabilization, income-maintenance and safety-planning strategies.

Languages We Speak:

  • Arabic, Bangla, Cantonese, Chiu Chau/Teochew, Filipino, Gujarati, Hindi, Indonesian, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Mandarin, Manipuri, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Thai, Taishanese, Taiwanese, Toisanese, Urdu, and Vietnamese (as of October 2022)

Divorce, Child Custody, Child / Spousal Support, Abuse and Harassment Prevention Restraining Orders, Victim Rights, Humanitarian Immigration Relief, “Green Card,” Relative Petitions, and Citizenship assistance for disabled, low-income or LEP survivors, Public Benefits, Housing Rights, Consumer Rights, and Language Access Rights.
